Demand for technicians with the right credentials will continue to increase as more homes and businesses sign up for fiber-optic services, including high speed Internet, video-on-demand, wireless and Internet-based telephone service, videoconferencing, electronic commerce, and more. Becoming a CFOT gives a technician the opportunity for greater job growth, increased salaries, and enhanced job security. This course has two components: theory and hands-on. Emphasis is placed on the practical aspects of working with fiber-optic cables, including connectorization, fusion splicing, and testing.
