Cleaning, Scoping, and Testing Fiber

Geoff Myers

Category: Fiber Optics

Length: 8 hours

Prerequisite: None

The health of any optical network depends on the quality of the network infrastructure. This quality begins with complete knowledge that the fiber cabling infrastructure was properly installed. Maintaining a reliable fiber plant is also essential in protecting all business-critical applications. This workshop course will provide the knowledge needed to successfully clean, scope, and test fiber optics to ensure proper operations. It includes two sections: a theory component and a hands-on component where emphasis is placed on the practical aspects of working with fiber-optic cables, including cleaning, scoping, and testing.
