Elder Care – Taking Care of Mom and Dad

Geoff Myers

Category: Health & Wellness

Length: 4–8 hours

Prerequisite: None

Description:

“It’s not safe for you to be at home alone.” This is the beginning of a difficult conversation that many adult children will have with a parent because they now find themselves in the role of adult caregiver. Could you be responsible for managing care directly or arranging for professional care for your parents within the next 3–5 years? How do you prepare? What are your choices and where do you turn when Mom and Dad become your responsibility? This informative course will aid participants by providing an overview of living arrangement choices, explaining the difference between assisted living homes and nursing homes, and making them aware of the financial and legal concerns their families could be facing.
