Geoff Myers

Category: Telecommunications Design & Distribution

Length: 8 hours

Prerequisite: None

In today’s changing world, information technology systems and cabling requirements are continuously evolving. Cabling systems have expanded and now integrate voice, data, video, security, paging, and environmental controls to create a truly converged infrastructure. Since the majority of network problems are attributed to the performance of the cabling system, technicians need a firm grasp of the fundamentals of cabling systems. This course will introduce cabling pathways and spaces, types of cabling, transmission characteristics, how to evaluate work, and how to properly implement a cable project.
