Length: 8 hours
Prerequisite: It is recommended you have a basic knowledge of network concepts, network topologies, and TCP/IP
This course is designed as an introduction to Software-Defined Networking (SDN) and Network Function Virtualization (NFV). It will describe the changing nature of data networks in the data center and carrier Wide-Area Networks that have driven the need for a change in how the control plane of the networks is configured and managed. The course will give a background of the building blocks and abstract structures, and a comparison to current data networking control techniques, as well as hands-on experience in using OpenFlow switches for SDN.
